Testimonials
“Joyce is an amazing author whose passion for writing is contagious. My students’ faces lit up as she shared how she became a writer, the grit needed to persevere, and how to capture a creative imagination. Every sentence became a seed for a whole new world as she taught the craft of writing.” Dr. Christine Anderson
“I really loved the part when you talked about going to the lab with all the cool fossils. I wish you would have talked more about that, it was very interesting. It’s magnificent how tar pits are formed! I also loved the experiment we did. I thought that the rock would absorb the color but, when I took it out at home, it didn’t! It stayed the same exact color! I loved that you were so generous while doing your presentation. Normally we are kind of loud in the classroom, but when you were talking no one talked so I could hear every word you were saying. I might want to go back in time and listen to the rest of your presentation. It was awesome!” [student] Baylor
“The students loved the hands-on, real-life experiences that Joyce brought to our school. Her presentation was engaging and sparked science interest in our students.” Beth and Paula, 4th grade teachers

- When the environment changes in ways that affect a place’s physical characteristics, temperature, or availability of resources, some organisms survive and reproduce, others move to new locations, yet others move into the transformed environment, and some die.
- Make observations of plants and animals to compare the diversity of life in different habitats. Scientists look for patterns and order when making observations about the world.
