Flow Poetry Series: Rapid melting triggers glacial lake outburst floods, such as recurring severe floods along the Mendenhall River near Juneau. On this, the 25th anniversary of the 2001 horrific terrorist attacks, I am taking this opportunity to pause, reflect, and remind myself to stand again hatred, protect human dignity, but to also think about how I can take action to adjust my climate footprint.

9/11 is indeed a “bedrock memory.” I love thinking about the way the earth remembers…without judgement, just as a witness to and record of events.

Joyce, I like the ending lines of your poem. It is a profound thought that needs to be empathized more often than one day a week. Your poem leads me to think it would be part of call to action process.
