Progressive Poem

Published by

The Poetry Friday community’s progressive poem, is here! Today you’ll find the first 14 lines from fellow poets, leading to my contribution to the ever-growing poem. Each blogger copies the previous line exactly as written, unless permission from that poet has been given. They then add their own line, offering an introduction if they wish. I’m honored to add line 15, the journey’s midpoint.

Jone landed a mysterious raven in time for me to add my one-liner for the Earth. Raven, a symbol of change and deep wisdom, is often honored as a protector and a keeper of knowledge. In keeping with the ABAB rhyme scheme, I ended line 15 with sage to suggest wisdom involves silencing the self to hear Earth’s voice. We are guardians of the Earth. Read the poem HERE.

Joyce, your line inspired me to reread the Poe poem. I tugged at my heart strings to find the right blend of words that the raven would offer the people and animals in front of the stage.
